Is slip 2000 a CLP?
Slip 2000 Extreme Weapons Lubricant (EWL) was designed for use on chain guns and machine guns like the MP5 and the 249SAW. It is an excellent CLP an is able to lubricate, clean, and protect. Slip 2000 EWL is a specially formulated synthetic liquid lubricant.

Is CLP a good gun lube?
Like any compromise item, CLP is a weak cleaning solvent and a less-than-ideal oil compared to discrete choices. But it works well enough when cleaning regularly, allows for one supply to kept in your cleaning kit and keeps your guns running simply and easily.
Is CLP bad for guns?
While “CLP” lubes may prove to be adequate in clearing guns that have jammed – it’s also true guns will tend to jam more often and fire fewer rounds if they are treated solely with “CLP” liquids in all maintenance events.
Do you need oil if you use CLP?
You clean with the former and then oil up the gun with the latter. Some people find Break-Free CLP or a different brand of it is all they need; some find that their gun seems to work best when a general purpose cleaner/lubricant is used in conjunction with a more abrasive cleaner for the bore and a stronger lubricant.
Does CLP remove rust?
Spray Break-Free CLP on the barrel, thoroughly soaking the rusted area. Let sit for several hours. Sometimes, and I mean sometimes, the Breakfree will lift the oxide right off and gently polishing with a soft cloth will remove the rust. If you are lucky, it will not even damage the original bluing.
